Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 2026 • Effective Immediately
At metadatastripper.com, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Unlike traditional web converters that force you to upload sensitive files to cloud servers, our metadata remover runs 100% locally inside your web browser using WebAssembly and client-side JavaScript. Your files never touch our servers or any third-party cloud infrastructure.
1. File Uploads & Local Processing
When you drag and drop an image (JPG, PNG, WebP), PDF document, or video file (MP4, MOV) into our application:
- Zero Uploads: Your files are read into local browser RAM memory using FileReader APIs.
- No Server Logs: We do not operate remote worker servers or temp storage buckets to process your data.
- Instant Destruction: Once you close or refresh your browser tab, all temporary memory allocations are completely purged by your device's garbage collector.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Because of our strict zero-trust design, we NEVER collect, store, or transmit:
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or user registration required.
No extracted GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, or document text.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser localStorage solely to remember your UI preference (Light Mode vs. Dark Mode). We do not use persistent tracking cookies or cross-site fingerprinting scripts.
4. Hosting & CDN Infrastructure
Our website asset files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WebAssembly binaries) are served over encrypted HTTPS via standard edge CDN providers (e.g. Vercel). Standard web server access logs (such as anonymized IP address and browser user-agent) may be recorded by the hosting platform strictly for DDOS protection and network security purposes.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), individuals have specific rights regarding personal data. Because metadatastripper.com does not collect, process, or sell any personal data or file metadata, your personal privacy is protected by default.
